EmbiidThe good news for Cleveland fans still recovering from months of NFL draft speculation is that the NBA draft is just a month away on June 26.

The bad news is that with the top pick secured in last night’s draft lottery, the speculation and draft talk will be pretty intense for the duration.

The morning after the lottery, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reports that the Cavaliers have an early favorite—7-foot Kansas center Joel Embiid.

“Sources told ESPN.com that Embiid is the early frontrunner for the top pick as long as his back is OK when the team’s medical personnel is able to get an in-depth look at him in the coming weeks.”

Meanwhile, Jason Lloyd of the Beacon Journal reports that the Cavs have had Duke forward Jabari Parker at the top of their board most of the season.

And just so we have complete confusion, Chad Ford reports in his mock draft this morning that the Cavaliers will select Andrew Wiggins of Kansas.

“However, my sources in Cleveland indicate Wiggins is the likelier choice at this early stage. They feel he has the most long-term potential, helps them defensively right out of the gate, and can replace Dion Waiters in the starting lineup while adding character to the team.”

There. Glad we cleared that up.
